Resting with a newborn

Thank you Levana for partnering up with us on this post. As always, all opinions are 100% my own.

A very rare sighting of baby Zeke in his crib, and I kind of love it. I’m so excited for when he will be old enough to sleep in here. Until then, those tiny cat naps, before he realizes mamas warmth is not near him, will do.

You would think after 4 kids, I would feel more confident with the kids sleeping in a different room then me, but to be honest, I rarely get sleep and it’s not because of crying babies all night, it’s because I’m constantly getting up to check to see if Zeke is ok and breathing and warm. I think that fear as a mother will never go away, but it can definitely help when you have the right monitor to help predict if your child is breathing for you so you can get a better nights sleep.

We purchased the Levana video monitor when Xander was born and have it hooked up in the nursery, but since Zeke is still in his bassinet in our room we were lucky enough to come across their Oma Sense monitor, that sensors your baby’s tummy movements.

Honestly, the worst thing as a mother (or parent for that matter), is hearing someone else’s worst nightmare come true. It’s so heartbreaking and devastating hearing stories about SIDS. So when I found out about the Oma Sense monitor and learning about how it tracks your babies breathing movements while they are sleeping and will alert you if they can’t sense your babies movement, I felt nothing more but compelled to purchase this monitor in a relief to help put my mind at ease.
