Simplistic Laundry Room Makeover

how to simplify your laundry room

*Thank you Bed Bath & Beyond for partnering up with us on this post. As always, all opinions are my own.*

My house is starting to feel homier with every room! I just redid my laundry room, and I love it! You would think it would be hard to organize a laundry room because most of the junk ends up in there. Am I right, or is this just in my household?

I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do with my laundry room because I knew I wanted to renovate the entire area. It’s such a small space, and I didn’t like the awkward laundry hookups. But, since we are currently renting, I thought I would keep it as simple as possible and just add some of my favorite pieces I found at Bed, Bath, and Beyond.

A lot of the wall decor and photos that I added to my laundry room I had bought at yard sales or goodwills. Although you can find a huge selection of home decor at Bed Bath and Beyond that you can add to your laundry room.

store laundry pods in mason jars

So you know how I’m trying to go for a simplistic farmhouse vibe in my house? Well, Bed Bath and Beyond has a huge selection of Farmhouse items, like this Laundry Basket I got and the mason jars where I’m storing my laundry pods. Their farmhouse collection is endless, and even the storage selection they have, you can tie into a farmhouse theme. I added some storage bins on the top shelves to hide our cleaning products and other items. The varieties are endless!

how to simplify your laundry room

I decided to find a simple area rug that fit the majority of my laundry room, and that’s only because the flooring in there is horrible to look at plus It turned out to be a good decision because it makes the laundry room feel so cozy. I ordered this 3-Bag Heavy Duty Laundry Hamper, and it’s the best! To have one laundry basket for a family of five, it was almost impossible not to have to wash daily. With this hamper, I can sort by colors, and I don’t have to worry about doing a load every day. That’s a total win in my book!

bamboo laundry basket

Can we talk about this laundry basket for a minute? It’s huge! I’m so obsessed with my new hand-woven banana leaf basket. It fits a huge load comfortably, and It sits perfectly on top of the dryer.

coat hangers for your laundry room

I knew from the start I wanted to add all natural wood coat hangers into my laundry room to store a few knick knacks we have lying around the house. So, when I found the 7-Peg Wall-Mount Wood Rack in Bamboo for only $16.99, I snagged four and had Joe put them all up on the back wall, and they fit perfectly. I will be using the coat racks to store aprons, brooms, mops, mop buckets, and other mudroom items.

storage space for small laundry rooms

I think my favorite piece in the laundry room is our new Safavieh Herman Storage Unit. It is so convenient with storage space. Right now, since it’s summer, we are currently storing sunscreens, pool towels, and floaties. But, during the winter season, we will be able to store extra blankets and linen which is great because that helps make our laundry room look less cluttered.

I think it’s so important to feel the most comfortable in your home. It may not be within your budget to renovate all the areas in your home. But adding a few pieces here and there to rooms that you spend most of your time in will help set a cozier mood in your home. You can find affordable and good quality items at Bed Bath and Beyond.
